Consequently, we have finally shut the book on 2010. Now, as we change into the beginning of the year, this is when most people indicate back on the 12 months before. Inside the movie world, this is also when critics and movie lovers take the time to review the earlier year. Not to talk about, this is awards season. With the Critics’ Decision Awards in simply a little while and the Oscars below two months ago, suffice to talk about the red carpet is officially out. 123movies
Today, I am going to throw myself into that all ring as we bring you Inactive Club’s 2010 Movie Awards. Up front, though, I would like to travel ahead and say, I’ll do this different than those big award shows. For one, you will see some of the typical categories, but likewise there will be some off-beat ones. Also, call me crazy, but I believe the largest factor in judging a movie is its entertainment value. Granted all of the other little areas of making a movie help to make a show better, however My spouse and i believe entertainment succeeds a movie’s technical prowess in order to define whether it is good or not. So, you refuses to be seeing me imparting these “artsy” movies just because of their “cinematic achievement” (whatever the terrible that is). Instead, Items be judging on good ole entertainment value (with acting, story, etc. participating in factors).
Therefore, without further ado, here are the winners of the first twelve-monthly Couch Potato Golf club Movie Awards.
Best Film: Inception
For me this was really Inception and Black Swan. I’ve actually spent days mulling it over in my brain which would be my movie of the 12 months. Yet , in the end, Inception wins out. Inceptionwas also perfect in a sense. With intelligent writing, good acting, fun action, great cinematography and so on and so on, the movie turned away to be awesome style with great substance. Nolan proved once more here why he is one of (if not THE) most sought after filmmakers today. A narrative genius. Following watching this movie, it made me realize what a god-send Nolan is to Hollywood really. Everyone in Hollywood should be taking notes. This really is how a successful movie must be done. Let’s not kid themselves, blockbuster action movies will still be the loaf of bread and butter of The show biz industry for some time to come. While this is alright, the condition usually is based on that they’re so shallow and but common saying and just “eh”. They generally just rely on cool action sequences and wonderful looking special effects. Not really Inception, though. This movie provides all that, but then actually brings material to that style offering us an engaging and mind-bending/intelligent storyline to go with it. This perfect blend makes Inception my movie of 12 months.
Perfect Actor: James Franco – 127 Hours
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: you want to test the merit of an professional? Throw him in a movie in which this individual is pretty much the only one ever onscreen and he needs to bring the complete movie himself. Exactly where the whole weight of the complete movie rests most assuredly on his neck. Will he shine? Will certainly he crumble? This is the test. Others have proven themselves in the same manner (Will Smith, Tom Hanks). And truly I believe this (and the “retard role”) is one of the biggest ways to check an actor and see if he’s one of the greats. So, enter David Franco and 127 Several hours. Playing a mountain climber that gets trapped within boulder and is all alone, Franco is remaining to carry a whole film on his own. Will he succeed? Damn right he does. With soaring colors in which. Keeping it interesting, conveying a range of thoughts throughout the film and sucking you in all on his own, Franco plainly shows he had the strength to tackle such a daunting task and become the best. For that reason, he’s my actor or actress of the year.
Perfect Actress: Natalie Portman – Black Swan
Natalie’s performance in the Aronofsky internal thriller is absolutely outstanding. Her best work to-date in my opinion. Playing a role that requires her to eventually move from sweet little trusting princess girl to girl-gone-wild (in a dark part kinda way), she strikes every beat without lacking a step. I imagine the most important factor for a good actor/actress is range. Now you may shine in a part that was just made for them (in line with their natural persona), but range and playing different personas/characters is where an actor/actress can show their true ability. In Black Swanalone, Natalie Portman indicates, in just the 2 hours, that she has more range than most actresses around. She exhibited more range in a single performance than most do in their entire career. Intended for such a brilliant performance Natalie Portman gets my vote as actress of the year. I no longer think this is even up for debate.
Perfect Supporting Actor: Christian Bale – The Mma fighter
Here is another that I feel is merely a given and isn’t up for argument. Bale absolutely stole the show in each and every scene this individual appeared inside the Martial artist. The weight loss exclusively shows Bale’s dedication to his craft. Furthermore, the way he was able to lose himself in that crackhead persona and into the role of Dicky Eklund just further proved what an amazing actor Bale is. To really teach you how excellent his performance was, the video clip of real life Dicky during the credit showed you just how well Bale nailed that performance. It had to almost end up like looking in a mirror for Dicky.
